Erskine Hospitals Charity Event

On Friday 6th Sept the Club held a very successful Charity day on behalf of Erskine Hospitals. We had a decent entry of 7 teams, could have done with a couple more especially from the Ladies side of the Club. Never the less we raised over £900 on the day. A fantastic result. Our grateful thanks to the businesses, MacGregors Industrial Supplies, Allied Surveyors, Mossbank Management Services, who sponsored a team, to all the individuals who donated money and prizes, all who contributed so generously to the raffles and a big thank you to the Myrtle Bank Hotel for laying on a great buffet.

The prize winners as follows:

Gent with straightest drive at 8th, Davy Price !!

A whole bunch of other prizes were fairly well distributed throughout the assembled company, though some there would no doubt dispute that.

Update

Please find attached a second Spring edition of Norrie's Newsletter - apologies for sending it in two parts (photographs used up a lot of memory). We are very grateful to Norrie McDonald for keeping us all up-to-date with 'what's going on' at the Club. As you will see, this is a special edition and I'm sure you will find it interesting. (Newsletter: Part 1, Part 2.)

I would like to add my thanks to Rona MacKenzie from Strathpeffer for the sponsorship of our Ladies Day. Rona's new venture (The Coffee Shop) is on the left-hand side of the main Strathpeffer-Dingwall road and I'm sure she will welcome all Gairloch Golf Club members, just not all at once!

Our next Whist Drive is on Friday 24th May at 7:30pm and a warm welcome is extended to you if you happen to be in Gairloch for the weekend. We don't take the game too seriously (or at least most of us) and every night so far, has had more than its share of laughs.

Finally, Friday-night 9's takes place on the 10th May at 6pm - spaces available! Our Open Texas Scramble is on Saturday 25th May and we are looking for teams of 4 to enter. Come on all you local members, speak to your friends and make up a team - gents teams, ladies teams or mixed teams, all eligible!

Thank you. Regards, Rhona Rollo.
